Abstract
An experiment was conducted at college orchard, Baba Raghav Das Post Graduate College, Deoria (Uttar Pradesh) during two corresponding years 2022-23 and 2023-24. The main objective of experiment was to evaluate the effect of inorganic fertilizer (NPK), vermicompost and their combinations on reproductive traits viz. number of tender fruits per plant, length of fruits, diameter of fruit and tender fruit yield of lady’s finger. The experiment consists of nine treatment combinations viz., Control (T1), 25% inorganic fertilizers(T2), 50% inorganic fertilizers (T3),75% inorganic fertilizers (T4),100 % inorganic fertilizers (T5), 25% inorganic fertilizers +Vermicompost (T6), 50 % inorganic fertilizers +Vermicompost (T7), 75% inorganic fertilizers+ Vermicompost (T8) and100% inorganic fertilizers+ Vermicompost (T9). The number of tender fruits per plant, length of fruits and diameter of fruits were recorded to increase significantly under the treatment containing 100 % fertilizers association with vermicompost when compared to control (T1). It was followed by 75 % fertilizers +Vermicompost (T8) and 50 % fertilizers(T7) +Vermicompost respectively during both year of experimentation. Weight of fruit, number of seeds and seed weight per plant were highest under the treatment of full dose N, P, K +vermicompost than control during corresponding years of trial. The highest yield per hectare was registered maximum (102.90 and 103.00 q/ha) under full dose of N, P, K. with vermicompost followed by 75 % doses of N, P, K with vermicompost (102.70 and 102.80 q/ha) over control.
